Carlson Leadership Academy
CLA 2010
"The executive board of Sigma Phi Epsilon Colorado Gamma attended the Carlson Leadership Academy (CLA) in San Mateo, California February 12-14. We met with many different chapters from our region, and exchanged a lot of ideas. The goal of CLA was to provide the executive officer training and share best practices, to implement chapter goal setting and strategic planning, convey the importance of recruitment and retention through curriculum, and recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of chapters, volunteers and brothers. Through out the weekend the Colorado Gamma executive board was split up into different sections with the other executive boards from different chapters, through doing this we learned what was successful and what could be improved on in our respective positions. We also meet with our districts chapters more extensively and our district governor Bill Tucker. We came up with a lot of great goals for the region and more specifically Colorado Gamma. At the CLA awards ceremony Colorado Gamma received a manpower excellence award, meaning that we were the biggest chapter on our campus, we were one of three chapters to receive this award at CLA. The weekend was an over all success, the executive board learned a lot and thought is was very beneficial experience."
